Melodee Sutton

Melodee Sutton began her music career at RCA Records as an intern in the office of the Sr. VP of Black Music, working on ground-breaking hip hop projects for such artists as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince and A Tribe Called Quest.  Melodee’s film music career began on the 1993 feature film SUGAR HILL (starring Wesley Snipes), where she served as Music Coordinator to Music Supervisor Pilar McCurry. Together, Pilar & Melodee partnered to create seminal soundtrack albums for such landmark films as “love jones,” “SET IT OFF,” and “Love & Basketball”.

The turn of the century marked a new milestone, with Melodee at the helm of her own music supervision company, where she supervised film projects starring comedians such as KEVIN HART, MARTIN LAWRENCE, and CHRIS ROCK. Melodee also serves as Founder of AudioVisualHarmony and Future Focus Project, respectively a boutique music placement consultancy, and a community-based education incentive teaching elementary school children the fundamentals of filmmaking, with hands-on workshops integrating their classroom curriculum.
